Default Daft question alert regarding Fuses

Daft question alert Which of these replacement fuses should be for the cigarette lighter?

By process of elimination I'm presuming - 10A INSTRUMENT ??

What is the year of manufacture? Looking at Haynes it suggests it could be fuse 13 in the drivers side fuse box and it goes under the title of cigar lighter, front/rear parking lights and headlight leveling.

I'll go out and have a look round mine, see if I can come up with a better answer.

Car Year 1998 Volvo V40 Estate Diesel

The box is on the drivers side, no other fuse boxes in the car that I'm aware of.

What's Haynes?

Before you read the following I've ignored your photo!!! It looks like it could be the 20A ACCESSORY, to me.

Well, Haynes is a widely available DIY manual, but I'm not certain as to whether one is produced for diesel engines.

Does your fuse box have a lid on it, if it does as mine has, it will be part No.30662309 and the fuse would be the first one of the vertically arranged row and it would be 20A top left.

There is a single fuse for heater 25A which sits by itself horizontally and directly below a row of 6 vertical and a further row of 7 vertical.

The horizontal one is HEATER 25A

Followed by the 1st row
CIGAR LIGHTER, ELECTRIC MIRROR/WIND., ABS, HEATED SEATS, BACK-UP/TURN LAMPS and SHIFTLOCK/CRUISE CONT.

2nd row
HAZARD, RADIO, WIPER FRONT, ENGINE/SRS, SEATBELT, STOP LAMPS and FRONT/REAR WIPER/WASH.

I've taken photo of it and I'm struggling to download it.

There's a massive current draw with a cigarette lighter. I'd suggest the correct fuse would be 20 to 25 amp.

Salut!

pookie, wat? suggest a larger fuse than the 1998 s40/v40 manual? looking at melting the headlight adjusters, data link, etc if there is a problem with the smoke lighter
