Thanks chaps - thats good to know

The current one is working perfectly well - the aim of my query is so that I can get hold of a spare to have ready in the event that a problem emerges

I think that the Carburettor Hospital might have one

If I spot a used one that needs refurbishment I would probably go for that if the price was right

Depends which Weber I think.
I have a Weber I bought once for a previous B230K but never fitted, and it has a conversion plate to change the manifold stud orientation.
I'd already fitted a Stromberg with B21A manifold. A man at Gower Lee advised on the correct needle.
As soon as I uttered the word "Cisac" he said without hesitation "bin it".

Think I will stick with it and try and get hold of spare anyway. The one fitted at the moment is working fine (famous last words....)

I do like the idea of a Weber conversion - good reputation and spares availability

Guys!
I need help converting solex to pieburg!
I have already installed new carb with the manifold form 700 series, connected the fuel, and vroom!
It works. But there are bunch of cables, i don't know where to plug now.
Vacume lines i hope are the same color in 240, and 700, because i have both schematics for those, but electrical cables are a mistery.
I have a german manual for pierburg, but for solex, only a drawing and vacume lines names.
Also, pierburg have a water "thing", with two pipes. one of them was connected to the manifold, but the socond is loose.
Can i shut it off, or is it nessesary?
Automatic choke perhaps?

Apology for my rusty english
And hello from Poland.

A couple of pictures would speak a thousand words in any language buddy!

The electrical part of the query I would guess to be the idle cut off valve 12v supply for the Solex, the Pierburg version of this is on the intake mainfold. There is also a micro-switch to tell the ignition when the throttle is shut on the 230K.

There are two hoses on the intake flange on the Pierburg, these go to a hot start valve that was not included in the Solex setup, you will need one of these. It gets rid of vaporised fuel in the float bowl.

You will need a vacuum line (thin) connection to the engine load sensor on the nearside suspension turret, the ignition module needs this input. The rest of the thin coloured spaghetti is for the EGR system as you say, you could probably bin this.

The two larger pipes from the intake I believe are the PCV and brake servo connections. Anything else is probably fuel.

Can i trust pipes colors betwean 240 and 700?

Those two wires are left unplugged (from old solex)? (image2)
What is this red wire, and this 2 plug valve (new pierburg with manifold) (image)

EGR is yellow piping, so good bye, but those two pipes on the picture of the manifold (image), can be color mathed to the solex instalation?

I have no experience of the 740, but I don't imagine they changed the pipes unless they had to, too much retooling cost etc.

Picture 1: That is an entirely different manifold to the one I got with my Pierburg (CD175). You may have a Stromberg, they swapped names a few times just to keep things interesting!

Picture 2: Top wire is idle cutoff wiring, bottom wire is idle channel heater connection as the Solex Cisacs are prone to carb icing. By the way, if you still have an intact thermisitor (a small disk connected to that plug) I would readily buy it off you? VERY brittle, if you are taking it out take care.

I have a attached a picture of what I have in case we are talking at cross purposes.

I will post photo of my melted cisac tomorrow.
Today, haveing my friend mechanic by my side, I asked him, where to plug those vacume lines, and 3 electric plugs.
He said, and I quote: "get them the f** out of here"
We basicly left one electric plug to the automatic choke, and 2 vacume lines i think.
I will take a picture of that as well.
The car runs good, but iddles hi, due to not plugging water to the carb.
Plus i have to shut it down by force, with brake and hi gear O_O
perhaps a faulty ignition barrel?

If you haven't plugged the idle shut off valve back in it may contribute to run on. It's a mechanical fuel pump so hot cylinders could well be enough for combustion to occur.
