I did this using a kit, and believe you me, it's a PITA.

Putting the new bearings in at exactly the right position is a nightmare.

As the previous poster says, just get one from a scrapper. You could probably get a recon for about £150, too.

Point taken Chesh - but the later ones with the push in output fitting rather than the earlier screw-in type are not so readily available.
I had to hunt around for one.

Default Pump seal

Fitted the used pump (from a breaker) it seems OK.

So I dismantled the old pump this afternoon. Straight-forward except for, as predicted, removal of the shaft circlip, which is in a recess so tricky to get at.

The seal has a metal body, see first pic, I think it's 15x28x7 - it should come out OK though I've not removed it from the housing yet - plenty of seals available in this size, but not with a metal body - any ideas where I'm going to pick one up ?
