C70 alarm siren going off as soon as doors are locked
As per title, started doing it today, as soon as I activate the central locking via the keyfob remote the alarm sounds. I ended up having to pull the fuse for the siren control unit. Any ideas? Ta.

Ok, doing a bit of research it looks like the battery may have failed in the siren unit (it also leaks onto the PCB) -can anyone tell me where the siren unit is located on the 2nd generation C70?

Can't categorically say for the C70, but on the S40 it is under the scuttle panel in front of the passenger side.
Remove wipers and clips to remove panel and it is mounted there. I think if you were to shine a torch through the grill part of the plastic you should see it before you go removing things - I can check that tomorrow if you'd like... Must be at least a good chance it's the same on the whole family? David

Phil, just seen this. I'll look tomorrow on the S40 and let you know if it's visible - hopefully that'll let you make a worthwhile check on the C70...
David

Right...on the S40 if you shine a torch in through the scuttle panel grille on the passenger side, aiming just under the windscreen give or take under the VIN number, you can see a metal, ventilated box. That is the siren module.
Can't remember now if the scuttle panel is exactly the same on the C70 but hopefully you will be able to do this and confirm the siren module is in the same place! Good luck! David
