Yes it does. There is some simple detection on the washer bottle
I’ve never seen mine as my washer bottle never gets low enough.

Mine could be faulty and think its always full and this is why I dint get any warning etc. Do we know where the bottle is located? Would you know part no for the sensor? Last edited by cpu_man; Jun 23rd, 2019 at 13:39. |

The washer bottle is behind the bumper at the front right wheelarch. Easy to remove when you know how, undo to two bolts that hold the bumper to the front panel and then unclimbed that side - no need to fully remove it.
There there are 3 or 4 bolts holding the washer bottle in, some are hard to see you need a socket and long extension. I’d say there’s a 90% chance if you remove the whole unit, strip it all down and clean it with hot water and mild bleach - it will work again and your washers will improve....

My main thing is I dont want to full remove the bottle again if I have to, I would rather just replace the sensor in one hit if that makes sense.. I am struggling to find a part no of the sensor?? |

Blocked screen washer
I just did mine and accessed the pump through the bottom of the left wheel arch. I pulled the two hoses out of the bottom and was expecting to get a flood of water gushing out but nothing happened although the reservoir was topped right up. I then removed what I thought was just a black washer in the outlet hole but it turned out to be a combined filter as well which was completely bunged up with goo (see first two photos and the last two after cleaning) I flushed the reservoir in situ and put it all back together and it’s now working like new.

Hi, I have my 2003 and there certainly should be a low water warning on dash when water is low.
Not sure if it helps but here is s pic of unit on eBay. There are a few more, you will see what looks like sensors above low water position. I am not sure which is which but maybe someone else can advise? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F283441008704 Last edited by john langrick; Jun 24th, 2019 at 06:53. |
