Default Replacement R Design badge installation

Hi all,

Just been tinkering and thought I would record it for a change..

So my r design badge on my C30 was all faded. I looked around and managed to find a polydome r design badge which should just fit into the original surround.

So I ordered it, it arrived and I have been waiting for a dry day.. Well it is sunny in Sheffield today so i thought I would work off the carvery lunch with a spot of diy.

The instructions which came with the sticker said to place it over the original. I had read elsewhere that it could be removed so I did just that.

I used a precision tiny flat head bit and pried it up at the bottom corner of the R. It lifted and i was able to use my fingers to gently pull it away from the plastic backing.

Once off, i gave the badge surround a thorough clean with some white spirits. Once dry i went on to apply the new shiney r design logo.

The front end finally looks right. I don't know why it bugged me so much but now I am really pleased with the result.. I have attached some photos

Good info - Also tempted to refresh mine in the same way.

I think it would be good to post how much, and where from, details as there will certainly be more interest. Thanks in advance.

Good work, I was in two minds on whether to do this, but in the end I just removed the whole badge entirely as I wanted my T5 to look a little less "R-design/S-line/ST-line/R-line/AMG line etc etc.

Yours looks very nice though.

Nice post! I'm planning to do the same soon as my R-design badge has faded beyond recognition.
