Default Volvo 440 fuses

hi does anyone know where i can find what fuses go in which socket on my volvo 440td (96) or do i need to get the haynes manual

the problem is my reverse light doesnt come on but the other lights work fine ive changed the bulbs and still nothing now im just wondering if its a fuse issue and im worried about changing fuses around (can you do more damage is say you put a 30 where a 7.5 fuse goes) my techical knowledge is between a joke and halford's weekend assistant

any help on what fuses go where would be fantastic or a link where i can find out

many thanks

lee

You can download a lot of manuals for the 400serie from the 480club europe.
The fuse for the back up lights is #17 7,5A. It's also the fuse for the warning buzzer if you leave the lights on and open the door. So easy to check if it's OK or not.

Hiya im a bit confused really i got the volvo manual and it says

No (17) - 20 AMPS

diesel engines only: glow plugs

No (17) - 7.5 AMPS

Petrol engines only:

'Lights on' warning buzzer
Reverse lights
Diagnostic system
Extra for australia: cigar lighter

Now as i got a Diesel Do i put a 20 amp fuse it like suggested or keep it 7.5 amps (i do get the buzzer alert on if i leave my lights on and open the door as you suggested) so it must be a lose connection on the reverse lights im thinking as i changed the bulbs and changed the fuse to 7.5 any ideas

thanks in advance

Sorry, didn't notice it is a diesel. In this case leave a 20amp fuse at #17 as the glow plugs needs this amp. Another possibility would be the switch on top of the gearbox has a loose connection or the relay in the cem gone bad. Try to locate them in the diesel manual. I can't tell you the location because I don't have a diesel wiring manual.
