Smile 240 Lights

My 1990 240GLT has a bulb in behind the reflector! according to the owners manual it is a 5W BA15s Socket. The inner bottom lamp is described in the owners manual as a Tail Light (Parking Light), lower middle is the reflector,(complete with bulb!), and outer lamp is Brake light/Tail light (Parking light)* The asterisk is for 'White bulb holder for right hand side, black for right hand side'.
When the ignition is on, the inner lamp, and the reflector are lit, with the outer lamp only lit when the brakes are applied. With the ignition off but lights switched on the inner lamp and the reflector remain lit, and the outer lamp still remains purely the brake light in spite of the handbook calling it 'Brake light/tail light, (parking light).
The top row remain the same: inner rear fog, middle reversing lamp, and outer, indicator.
Clear as mud !!
Kevin.

From what you are saying, there are 3 separate tail-lamp assemblies for the late saloons: one with the High-Intensity rear fog lamp on the top row and the two tail lamps separated by a reflector plus a dual filament lamp in the outboard position, one with the stop lamp on the top row and three single filament units on the bottom row, and one with the set-up that the Stig has.
Sweden's finest sporting saloon, a 1988/89 model, has the three single filament lamp arrangement and a later (G-plate) example that lives a mile or so away from me has the arrangement which the Stig's has.

Postcards on an answer please........
