Default RPM Hunting at Idle

My 2000, V70 engine has a tendency to hunt between 700 and 1000 RPM when at idle. This occures for the first 15 minutes when the engine has been left over nite. Sometimes the engine appears to misfire at 2000 RPM during the same period. I have replaced the plugs without any success. Has anyone had similar issues or suggested solutions.

Thanks Ken

hi my 2000 C70 coupe T5, does the same (revs between 700-900) for about 3mins first thing in the morning but doesnt misfire. I just put it down to the engine being cold (and hoping its not more sinister) lol

hi guys i had same problem with my 2.5 none turbo 850. i read an article about removeing the throtle mouth and cleaning it and also removeing dirt from the two pin holes in the baseof this unit and the breather pipe that is attatched to the bulkhead side. haveing scrubed it with rags and carb cleaner spray (well a freind did it for me , id love to pretend im mechanicaly talented but alas im not) my engine idled as sweat as hunny and very stable at 850 to 900 rpm.
the rags were free and the carb cleaner was about 4 quid plus mates hep cost a few coffees.
i hope this helps

Thanks for thoughts. Finally bought a OBD2 code reader and found P0352 fault, (ingnition coil B). Removed cover for coils and noticed a possible pinched wire between head and cover due to erroded plastic wire cover. Switched coils for cylinders 1 and 2 and put tape over wires. After two drives no rpm hunting and no codes. If problem is solved the code reader is paid for.
