Default V70 Drivers Window 'bounces' back down

When closing the drivers window on my 2005 MY Volvo V70, using the 'one-shot' facility, the glass 'bounces' back down to open. If I hold the door mounted switch 'up' it stays up at the top of its travel.

Can anyone help with advice please?

It needs initialising , raise the glass and when it reaches the top keep the switch pressed for over 5 seconds , this should store the top limit memory position ... If it doesnt then it will have to be done on the volvo workshop computer ..
If the galss is still in its runner this will happen .. so if the glass slows on the way up then replace the rubber/felt runner strip , lubrication is only temporary .

Many thanks for your suggestion 'CLAN'. I followed your process but unfortunately it didn't fix the problem in my case.

So, I guess it's back to the dealer. I will have to live with it 'til the next service. It isn't as if I can't secure the window - it's just a pain.

The glass seems to move smoothly in the runners so it's probably due to wear somewhere in the system?

My car going back to dealers for the third time next week with same problem with front passenger window, been like it from new. They have tried the re-initialising, re-lubing etc etc I think there is a problem with the whole unit. Hope if I keep sending it back it will be replaced under warranty. Doesn't move as smoothly as the other windows. I wouldn't wait until the next service.

The only time I've had "bounce" on mine was in the middle of the travel - would get half way up and then bounce back. This was cured by doing a really good clean of the rubber tracks.

Can't hurt to try it I suppose but if it's right at the top it does sound like something different.

Rubber is the key word here ..
there shouldnt be any rubber rubbing on glass , its very high friction! What has happened is the felt lining has worn away , the felt greatly reduces the friction of glass on rubber .. When you have just the rubber left lubrucation works wonders but not for long . The answer is a new felt lined slide channel ...

Try disconnecting the battery for ten minutes. Worked for me.
