1979 244DL one prior owner
1979 Volvo 244DL. One owner prior to me. Original owner serviced the car every year regardless of milage ( now showing 28,000.) Hence serviced on average every 800 miles!.
In 1982 Volvo offered a two tone seat like the blue shown below and the owner liked the look of this but did not want to trade his 79 volvo with only 6000 miles on the clock. Instead he ordered from Volvo a red and yellow front and back seat including head rest which took 3 months to arrive from Volvo. The dealer then fitted them. A short time after the owner covered the seats with black covers to protect the new seats or may be he did not like the outcome.
Winner Of BKV in class 2005 and BKV Northern 2007 and winner of show for which Im really proud of and at the time when presented with this you could have knocked me over with a feather.
Recently represented the Volvo owners club at the Alexander Palace International Car Show in London and came 2nd as the Best 1970 car in show.

240man The original owner passed away about 4 years ago, having brought it from new as a retirement present to himself. As he grew older he did very little milage and yet still had his car collected and returned by volvo for service and MOT. Some Mots show as little as 800 miles from one year to the next yet it never missed a service. The underneath is as new as she never ever went out in the rain. It took some time after his death for his widow to sell it and it was her son who advertised it on her behalf in the Classic Car Mart Mag. A magazine I always get out when released and saw the ad for £750. I phoned the ad and said I would buy the car without seeing her and sent a cheque for £700, a price we agreed over the phone. a part from the dust she was a wonderful find and although I stayed in contact with the widow, she has since moved.
As I have said I did once offer her for sale but Im afraid Ive already brought my grave which measures 5m by 2.5m and so she will be buried with me. They mi

16yr old with a 1980 244 WOW! I must say im not too keen on the colour or the interior (my opinion) but my god my heart nearly stopped when I saw the pic of it up on the ramps! :O

shame those last pics dont go any bigger...

Do you still keep in contact with the original owner?

If you ever find yourself running out of space for the car then ill willingly take it off your hands, though bear in mind: Im ALWAYS broke!!
