1991(H) 340GL 1.4 'Kar'
Owned by myself for 5 years, in which time I've covered 40k+ miles. Total mileage to date 123k milesCurrently off road, see below.
Engine Specifications:- Currently shot, after I let a garage near it for the first time in 2 years, and they didn't torque tighten the air filter/carb bolts. I found the bolt in the carb, and never saw the washer. No1 cylinder has been destroyed, something metal-like has been rattlying round in there...
Engine Misc.:- Currently awaiting B18FT from a Volvo 400, turbo 340 here we come! Along with that, moddified driventrain will be fabricated
Suspension, wheels & tyres:- Awaiting SPAX adjustables all round
- Volvo 480 Atlas rims
- Uprated brakes all round, currently being fabricated
Interior:- Volvo 400 series Info Centre and Traffic Master traffic alert system in custom panel
- Re-circ
- Econometer and Ambient Temperature gauges (temperature gauge modified to give internal and external temperature readings)
- Voltmeter, Oil Pressure and Oil Temperature gauges from a Porsche 928
- Silver dash and trim
- Custom boot cavity covers
- Electrics Windows and Mirrors
- Blue LED accented interior lighting
Uprated stereo system consisting:- Alpine V12 4 channel amplifier
- Custom designed Bang and Olufsen components in rear shelf
- Alpine 6x9's in the front door pockets
- Custom preamp
- Ipod
Rear shelf utilises the Volvo standard issue "Granny" tarten blanket to prevent rear window being smashed for speakers on display, and amp is situated in rear boot cavity, with a pair of custom covers to hide it when boot is open.

- Original bodykit (awaiting fitting)
Until the good weather and finances come in, I'm running my spare parts car (see my other gallery)
As I only have one car taxed and insured at a time, all get treated as workhorses that I can enjoy, hence the mods are (mainly
) to increase comfort and fun. I also compete in a local road rally series, so the current car at the time also gets to see some motorsport, and needs to be able to perform as such.
