I think I can afford it if I was going lol, but I bought a group booking for £25 per car (same dynomynamics dyno), but judging by there recent quote to map a car of mine, they certainly like to charge.

they normally charge £50 fwd & £60 awd so they've given us discount anyway, also they've arranged the catering which saves us a job

as for sorting out a group booking, the reason we dont do that is for the amount of cars that attend our dyno days & taking deposits is just a pain in the arse as is limiting the number of cars that can attend

shark have said they will just keep going til they get all the cars that want to run on the dyno (no time limit 10-4 etc)
which personally i think is very good of them as its there only 1 day off a week

shark has done custom software for me & i certainly dont think they over charge..

I think regardless of cost, it's going to be a brilliant day....we've had a fantastic response on the VT Facebook events page with lots of people coming to run on the dyno & plenty of folk just coming along to spectate and join in the fun & shenanigans.

To be honest, I've only ever attended three Dyno Days but it's clear that different garages & dyno set ups have different operating costs which probably reflect on how much they need to charge on the day. £40 may seem expensive for a group dyno day but everyone seems to be excited about Sunday and nobody has questioned the cost.

I won't be running, but I'll definately be catching the smiles and tears on camera lol

It's a pity your not holding it somewhere else. Shark do some fantastic work but it's a shame they're still running the V50 D5 with a DPF delete which means it won't pass an MOT.

I think anybody worth their money should be able to produce good gains whilst retaining the DPF/EGR.

I'm not a Shark fan boy, I have used them in the past for two power runs, both were paid at the normal retail price at the time. My eyesight isn't the best without my glasses but looking at the OP the dyno clearly displays Bapro, they make dyno's. I think then the dyno at Shark is a Bapro not a Dyno Dynamics. I'd advise some in depth reading on the differences between the two as I think you will be able to learn at lot.

To try and add some balance, they use their V50 D5 in much the same way as I use my 850, as a test mule. I also run my car with some emission equipment disabled to aid ease of evaluating other component. Regardless of the chosen tuner if they want to evaluate component reliability without having a DPF fail on the D5 it would have to be removed to run 240BHP for any reasonable amount of time. Running with the DPF removed at say 240BHP would enable better testing of for example clutch and flywheel for a final map with DPF that would run around 220BHP.

If the internals of the DPF were removed without damaging the casing then the car would pass an MOT on the visual inspection and also exhaust emissions.
