Default inlet manifold blow-off pipe!

hello again!

i'm having a little bit of an issue with the blow off pipe (the plug bit actually!) popping out of my inlet manifold and causing major issues. it hadn't happened for a couple of months when looking into it last time i found it's a bit of a weak spot and was told to arundite it back in! thing is now that it's happened again my worry is is it not more likely a PCV issue causing the blockage which leads to the plug "popping out" i've had the car to a volvo specialist previously for an oil leak who said pcv was fine.

any ideas what i should do next?!?

i'm worried that if the plug gets fixed in majorly (weld etc) something else more major could go pop!

thanks for reading!

:-)

hi mate!

not sure if i need either. (thanks for kind offer though) the plug part (with pipe attached) is what pops out leaving unplugged hole and massive air leak from manifold so then i loose servo, power steering and gain MASSIVE turbo chatter! LOL!

just can't help think it pops out for a reason (PCV blockage) and getting rid of the safety valve side to it by welding it in would be BAD.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

i feel a trip back to the garage coming on! LOL

cheers!

Id replace the PCV system , how can the mechanic know for sure if the PCV line are clear?

For the sake of a £80 ish replace the whole PCV system and intake manifold gasket while your there.

Thats what i'd do anyway.

i think thats what i'll end up doing not sure if i'll do it myself or get the garage to do it for me. it doesn't look too tricky going by the guides people on here have posted.

cheers!

It's not that bad really, get all the stuff from Volvo Ruffe on here i'm sure will can help.

Secret is take your time. It really aint that bad, done a few now some awkward manifold bolts to get at but these dont have to came all the way out as the Intake sits on them.
