Default What tyres do you recommend?

Hello. I bought my 67 Amo complete with four recent tyres, which are Jupiters - I imagine these are cheapos. They're not noisy, but I have found that the car is a little prone to a few handling issues that might be tyre-related: occasional wheelspins on cambered junctions, a bit keen to lock up on sharp braking, slightly twitchy cornering, that kind of thing. Pressures are 31psi all round. Wheel rims are the standard ones, and the suspension is all recently overhauled.

I'm not in a hurry to change the tyres because there's a fair bit of tread on them, but I'm interested to know if people have favourite tyres for Amazons, particularly in relation to handling and fuel economy. I used to run my RWD Triumphs on Continentals, and always had excellent handling, but not having driven any other Amazons I don't know if I'm just asking too much of its handling!

Cheers.

You're a witty bunch today! I was wondering about trying some hexagonal tyres, but thought they might give a bumpier ride.

I want to stick with 165/15s, as I have seven wheels that size! But in all seriousness I don't think tyres are just black and round, I think they're quite a big part of the way a car handles.

If you can run to them Michelin XAS, the Vredestein is OK, the Michelin is much better and much more expensive.
