Default V70D5 keys 2002?

Mine are a little old and tired looking.
From what i van see they do not have transponders etc inside. They are just plain "valeo" branded keys .

Firstly , am i correct

secondly are they easy to get cut? I can source them for less than £6.00 each via ebay. Wondering if most key cutting places will do them ?

Thanks

Luke

Wrong.
They about 30 quid and have to be programmed to your car.

Some key cutters/car locksmiths can 'copy' the transponder information, this saves having to have new keys programmed to the car. As far as I know, only Volvo can programme new keys to the car as it requires connection to their central computer as well as connection to the car.
Cloning does require a virgin key/transponder.
If you go down the 'clone' route it does mean that keys can't be individually deleted from the car at a later date but if they are replacements anyway this shouldn't matter?
