Default Volvo V70 2.3 T5 - For Sale

I have my faithful Volvo V70 T5 for sale, selling due to needing more seats for a growing family (so bought an XC90). Let me know if you have any questions.

It’s a great car and I’m sorry to have to sell as it’s been very reliable and proved a good buy when I needed a car at short notice. I’ll be as honest as possible about all details so please accept that this is a very good car but has a few age related scuffs and stone chips.

Full details:
  • Date first registered: 26 October 2000 (x reg)
  • Silver, 94,650 miles, Petrol, Geartronic (Semi Auto)
  • Black leather interior
  • Former keeps: 3
  • New MOT (2nd August 2012) – only advisory was “Rear registration plate deteriorated but not likely to be misread” – it’s been through at least 2 MOTs in this condition.
  • Last Serviced (2nd August 2012) at 94,534 miles
  • Cambelt service/replaced at 86,000 miles (new cambelt, tensioner, waterpump)
  • Air con recently re-gassed
  • Integrated dog guard
  • Towing hook
  • Back seats contain integrated booster seats (one each side) for children
  • Service history, I bought it last September and have had a mate who works for a specialist car garage look after it for me. It’s had new brake pads, fuel filter, air filter, brake hose, rear anti role bar link, new brake shoes, new tyre, both steering lock stops replacing.
  • All tyres have plenty of life in them along with the brake pads/discs
  • The body work is in good condition, a few stone ships and very minor dents from stones but nothing much to spoil the looks
  • Leather Interior is in very good condition and all electrics work as expected.
  • Occasionally the message Alarm Service required pops up in the DIM but that seems to be after short journeys only, I suspect it needs a new rechargeable battery.
  • The alloys have seen better days and are quite scuffed, some worse than others.
  • The only issue I think should be looked at is a bush or link becoming warn on the passenger front side, I’m advised that it could do with being changed but not bad enough to be flagged on the MOT.
  • Offers in region of £1750, located near Devizes in Wiltshire

Absolutely identical to my old one - great cars arent they!

I hope you get what you want for it - even with a recent (£250) gearbox service I struggled to get £1200 for mine. Did sell in the end though, the markets just very tough for these old, thirsty girls.....

It is a great car, just needed more seats.

I'm willing to consider all sensible offers for this but it's early days.

As has been said .. Beautiful car ALWAYS wanted a Phase 2 v70 but I fear you will Struggle at the £1750 mark Especially it being a T5.

On an "X" Plate the D5's are pulling that sort of money put it up at a "Smidge" under £1500 & you'll have a Queue at yer door & be fighting them off with a Stick......

There have been a few go thru "The Bay" recently at BELOW the £1000 mark but admittedly they did not have the History & Maintenance that your has..nor the 12 months MOT !!!

I wish you well with the sale

You had any luck with the sale yet? Its a shame you're 300 miles away, as i said earlier, i would seriously consider having a look at it myself.

Not yet but I'm going to try listing it on GumTree and eBay next.
I'm happy for people to put forward serious offers, I'm quite flexible on price.

Unfortunately itguy couldn't make it to view the car at the weekend and eBay seems full of time wasters who think it's fun to win auctions and the not even bother to turn up and view/see the car.

It's still up for sale if anyone wants to come and have a look and drive around. I felt bad about telling people it needed a new bush and being a bit vague so I had it in the garage on Friday to get a definitive diagnosis.

It needs a new front passenger suspension top mount. There is excessive vertical movement. I've been advised that it's quite safe to drive and it passed it's MOT with this but it makes a nasty noise so when considering offers people should factor in getting this replaced at some point. German and Swedish have a top mount for £54 and I'm told it will take about 90mins to fit. Not a major job.

Anyway, just a heads up that the car is still available and is in really good condition, I suspect the first person to see it in the flesh will drive it away and be feeling rather happy with their bargain purchase.
