Default Originality or restoration whats best

Hi. I am ina bit of a dilemma,I run two classic cars 1971 TR6 150 BHP which i have owned for 13 years and a 1966 Amazon 1.8.
My problem is that i am not using either of them very much,300 miles in the TR and a bit more in the Volvo. So i am considering selling the Volvo.
How do you price a totally original Amazon?
Brief description.Imported from Sweden in 1988 from a private collection.
Purchased by a company restoring Volvos for a show car.
This car is totally original. It has never be welded or any panels replaced.
Engine bay as from factory with the stickers still on the air filters in Swedish and English.
Bodywork 90% original the roof as been resprayed at some time.Overall it looks good, but thier is a small dent in the drivers door, but the rest of the car as it left the factory.
Overall this must be one of the most original cars in the UK.
My question is do you leave it,or restore the bodywork?
Would £7000 be a realistic price.Regards Ron

The car looks in very good condition , and even more so under the bonnet it confirms what you have said in your description.

Considering these cars have been around the block and beyond just shows the quality that volvo managed , and great ownership with pride for years makes the perfect package and i would say what does the car need ? to keep it in tip top condition or at least so mechanic`ly working and then it may help you decide .

hope thats helped and thank you for sharing your photos of the car a nice example

Hi - lovely car. How many miles on her? It should be top dollar alright. Not sure what that would be, and you have to find a buyer for it too. Here in Canada it would be hard to get what that is "worth". Mine is insured for $18,000 but it would be nearly impossible to sell for that.

Default Nice car!

Ron hi,

How come it's a left-hooker with GB registration? Also, I think the tyre is a Pirelli Cinturato which was a radial if I'm not mistaken - can't fail to recoginise the tread pattern.

Looks very original and lovely condition. Hope mine will be the same some day!

Default originality or restoration

Hi Ric.It was imported from Sweden in 1990 by a guy who restored Volvos as a business it was his show car,I have just serviced the car and brought a complete air filter £72 lot of money.I also noticed i was losing brake fluid from the master cylinder,so i am going to borrow a hub puller from a member wish me good luck i hear they can be very difficult to remove. The car really in quite good condition rubber mats headlining seats dash are all excellent and original. My wife is Swedish so we are thinking of driving there this summer,What sort of spares would you take.Back to originality you cant restore a car and get the same restoration as a factory finish. My other car is a TR6 which i have owned for 12 years a 150 BHP,Great car fuel injection and totally reliable, properly serviced by me.Good luck with your car.Regards Ron

I would fix it - I'm sure the new owner would anyway.
