engine number, which cambelt kit?
Okay im sure its a stupid question but where do I find the engine number on the secondhand engine I have bought?
I need to order a cambelt kit and need the engine number, I thought it might just be as simple as pre ME7 (which it is) and ME7? |

There should be a sticker on the cambelt cover, like this -
Its also stamped onto the top rear LHS of the engine block - Apologies to the owners for hijacking the images ...

Engine Number
well thanks that helps, but from what I can read the number on the label is
1136058 and also 6821259 neither of which tally up with the two options for Volvo t5 cambelt kits which are specified as either 1266128-31292745 or 31292745 on |

My '98 V70R FWD has engine number 1393028
So I assume your engine is either an 850 engine or else a very early x70 one? Best thing to do would be to call FRF and see what they can tell you. The main difference will be the tensioner type I believe.

Best bet is to quote the engine number to FRF, I'm just an enthisiastic amateur
I'd strongly recommend you get a genuine belt, idler and tensioner - if you quote the club discount code to FRF you'll get a competitive price.
