Accelerator not working!
As per the title really, 2001 2.4 (140)
Just had the ETM done. All worked perfectly for two miles so parked car up. Went back 24hrs later, car drove for 100meters then all reves dropped to idle and I could do nothing, accelerator not working. Amy suggestions ... I don't have access to a Volvo code rearder This is really urgent as need my to use Volvo for my tow car in two weeks! Cheers BM |

Long shot but you could check the connector on the accelerator pedal to check its fully seated, but if it were me, I'd be calling the place that did the ETM and asking them to come and fix it. Sounds like too much of a coincidence that it should fail within 2 miles of the place that repaired it.

Did 'Phaedrus' not have a similar issue and it transpired a fuse expired?
The throttle has a fuse!! At least on a Vag 2.5D V70 anyway...... Last edited by 4candles; May 31st, 2015 at 11:21. |

The etm was removed, sent off and repaired with contact less gubbins. So getting them to pop out is a non starter.
I'm just up off of night shift so will check connections and fuses and go from there Many thanks for the replies much appreciated Bm |

Update time
Checked connections on throttle position sensor and fuses all okay Test drive! Okay same thing happened after less than one hundred meters would not rev part 1000 rpm Switched off and managed half a mile before it happened again managed to limp home and switched off Upon re starting engine ticks over at 950 which is higher than it was prior to etm being done Also whilst standing it will rev cleanly when blipping the throttle. . . But when revs drop they drop slow taking approx five seconds to drop from 4000 pausing at a little under 1500 for a second then dropping back to 950 Rev's don't appear to hunt merely pause Baffled |

To be honest no! But i did use Lukas and his reputation is good
Okay update . . . Cleaned the throttle position sensor connections car revs cleanly and revs drop without pausing to 750 ., however been five minutes of idle now sits at 900 and when blipped sets drop normally settle fractionally at 1200 then back to 900 Test drive time. . . |
