Default Tailgate badge removal

I was thinking of removing the badges from the tailgate of my V70 and wondered if anyone could confirm whether or not it's just a case of pulling them off. I don't want to try and take them off only to make a mess of it. Any tips or advice welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Last time I did this a used a length of fishing line and gently ran it under the badge, then a cloth with a dab of cellulose thinners to clear of any left behind goo.
