In the spirit of trying to help get things back to normal after the recent data loss, here's as much as I can remember (plus some instructions for those unfamiliar with the area).
Someone, can't remember who, queried if the beach is good for dogs. Yes it is. There is a burger van in the car park so cups of tea and snacks are on hand. The meet was to happen at the golf course end of the car park, unless you find it full of horse boxes (best check when the races are on, sometimes the horses are taken there for exercise). Getting their: There are no houses there so I don't know what you'd put in your satnavs, but it is very easy. There are two main roads into Redcar, the A1053 trunk road, and the A174 parkway. You're most likely to come in on one of those. If you come down the A1053 trunk road, as you approach Redcar you will come to a set of traffic lights with a petrol station on your right and a Vauxhall dealer on your left. Take a left at the lights. If you come down the A174, you will come to a big roundabout with the works entrance on your left, and a big posh building kind of diagonal left, take the second exit onto there. Continue straight down until you come to a set of lights with a petrol station on your left and the vauxhall dealer opposite. Go straight over said lights. By this time, both routes will take you to Coatham roundabout on the northern edge of Redcar. Go straight over the roundabout and follow the road on. It will come to a sharp bend at the right, follow it round, and then the car park is on your left. If you end up on the wrong side of town, just follow the coast roads right through town, keeping the sea on your right, and you can't go wrong. |
