Default Diagnosdtic module

My 850 T5 Estate doesn't appdear to have a diagnostic block, I know where it should be ie fitted on the black box on the offside front of engine bay where the washer bottle filler pipe is, what is this box? cant find any indication in Haynes?

I have a "spare" plug in cable in that area and wonder if a) someone has removed it in the past, b) it never had one and c) would getting a replacement be any use?

I think A/C needs a re-gas and I wonder if there is a chesk to hear if the compressor is actually working outside of the diagnostic codes

Look under the coin tray you might have an obd2 socket for diagnostics using either a led tester that does the same as the front post diagnostics orvol-fcr which might read the car.

Yeah, put the A/C on full, open the bonnet and listen near the A/C compressor, you will hear it clicking in and out of engagement periodically. Other check of course is to feel if it's blowing cold air.

99% of A/C faults are low gas, and it won't throw a code for this anyway. Best plan is to get it re-gassed, this will tell you if it was low in the first place and will also check for leaks.

Cheers

Brilliant, thanks for those found the diag slot in the coin tray can you recommend a reader tool please?

Re Aircon, I presume the compressor is front right-ish bottom of engine just inboard of the drive belts?

Sorry to be a bit slow, 850 is a new one on me after years of North south 940's, 760's and 960.

Yes, A/C compressor is down bottom right of the engine bay as you say.
