Door Panel 'Lock Stump'
Today I had to remove the door card and when placing it back on I managed to knock the little stump which signifies the locking of the car out of its location:
It is the little fella at the very top right hand side of the sill above. Does anybody know the best way to fit it back in its place? Thanks. Last edited by Volvophile; Jul 31st, 2012 at 01:20. |

lock stump
If it's the same as mine (s80 ) take the card off again and screw the stump back onto the lock connecting rod then put the card back on making sure you get the stump thru the hole.I take it you do mean the button that goes down when you lock the door.

From what you are saying, the pin is still attached to its rod, but the rod is hanging loose inside the card?
If that is the case it is simple to pop back on after removing the door card again (assuming the fronts are the same as the backs!). Both of my backs are off at the moment and I removed the rods and pins just to keep them out of the way and stop them getting damaged.

I might try and remove that little panel inside the door and see if I can reattach it. |
