Depends if you have a 3-spoke steering wheel or a 4-spoke one. For a 3-spoke one:

Quote:
First of all, lower the steering wheel to the lowest point it can go.
Undo the two screws (yellow circles) holding the instrument panel outer cover. Wiggle it out carefully.

There are 3 screws holding the instrument panel in place. Remove all 3.

Carefully pull the Instrument panel outwards and disconnect the two wire clips connected to it.

Carefully wiggle it out. It will go through the steering wheel gap, but be careful not to brrake the ododmeter reset thingy
If you have the 4-spoke one then you will either have to remove the steering wheel, or another way I tried recently was to undo two big bolts securing the steering and lowering the whole steering assembly to make enough space for the speedo to come out.

Looking at windscreen and airbag, I'm guessing thats not your main car you're kindly demonstrating on?

lol. Nahhhh. It was this one http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=127276 . It was a CatC I bought sometime ago and broke it making a few guides down the line. And I've learned a lot from that car while taking it apart.

You can angle the Speedo cluster enough with the 4 spoke steering wheel to change all the bulbs behind. You need patience but it is possible.

Hmmmm. Very good point Dean......... You can still access the bulbs at the back of the speedo without removing it completely.
