Thanks again to all who replied. An update now that the solar charger has arrived. Question is, where is the most effective connection point?

I ask this as my car has the darkened tinted windows (factory fit due to dvd screens in headrests)

I thought about picking up on the remote jump start terminals under the bonnet. However would there be a volt-drop situation if I did that? If I connect direct to the battery, the leads are too short to pick up direct sunlight due to the window tint, same applies to connecting to the 12v socket in the boot.

Any advice/tips from experience etc welcome please.

Thanks

You can connect directly to the post under the bonnet , via a 1 Amp fuse for safety though .. Volt drop wont come into it with such small currents passing down such thick cables ..
Your measly 3/4 amp in FULL sunshine will not make much of an impression on the battery though ..

I just plug mine into the boot socket, but the lead is long enough for the panel to reach the windscreen

Currently have mine plugged in to boot socket but lead only long enough to allow unit to hang over front on middle row seats. Red light comes on when unit charging and goes out at night so must be working OK

Tried clipping it to posts under the bonnet but no indication it is charging,
