This may be useful: oil pressure switch
Today Pigeon goes through his 164 sorting out little electrical things that didn't work, like the clock (dirty contacts), the instrument lights (corroded connections in the rheostat) and various dud bulbs in the dash.
The dysfunctional oil pressure warning light turned out to be the switch rather than a bulb... it had done the usual oil pressure switch thing of developing a wobbly spade connector which no longer does what it should on the invisible other end within the body of the switch. So Pigeon trundles off to the local Unipart dealer to see if they have anything, relying on the large degree of interchangeability among oil pressure switches. They can't find anything on their computer (not to my surprise) so I ask them to show me what they've got on the shelf. They say "well, we only keep two types on the shelf", and show them to me. One offering looks like it has the right thread, so I take it on the understanding that I can return it in pristine condition if it doesn't fit.
Get home, wait for engine to cool a bit, out with the old, try the new one. Screws in smoothly. Great. Take it out again, stick some Hermetite in the threads and wrap some PTFE tape round it just for the sake of completeness, screw it in properly. Attach wire. Ignition on... it works. Start engine... no, it doesn't leak.
Part number is GPS155.
