Out of the blue, my main keyfob has stopped locking/unlocking on my 57 v50. My spare works fine. I changed the battery thinking that could be the problem but turns out its not. The key will start the car, its just none of the buttons work on it. Anyone had this before??
Thanks |

Buttons probably work in exactly same way as a computer keyboard so if it's possible to dismantle the key and wash the bit of plastic behind buttons you might make it work again. N.B. I don't think it will be very easy to do !

'My' key (which OH has now hijacked ![]() Has anyone ever managed to ID the remote chip and find a replacement ? And of course I'm not inclined to pay a dealer £100+ for a cure ! BTW, I know it's not the battery since swapping batteries leaves same fob not working but I'll try a new battery anyway.

And having tried a new battery, I'm even surer that wasn't the problem.
