I found changing my I/C a real PITA, but others say it wasn't too bad. The big hoses at the front are very simple to remove, and well worth doing, especially since you're having a new intercooler fitted.

I was thinking of hand brushing some old engine oil onto the whole of the car, maybe the muck and water will just slip right off.

Keep catching that loser icon by accident

I'm not a fan of frequent car cleaning so I clay bar, then use Showroom Shine which is a favourite of the shopping channels.

If done well, that combination will see your car looking excellent for weeks and presentable for months.

Now then, I've never used a clay bar before, can you pop up and show me how you would do a whole car with that ches. I'll slip you a little something for the trouble. 😝

I think my paintwork just isn't worth it anymore ches. If I'd still had my Sapphire Black T5, which was in showroom condition, I would certainly put in some serious effort, sadly my current D5 is not in anywhere near the same nick. I've got some links to your vids saved, I'll check it out later.

So the intercooler arrived today less than 24 hours after I ordered it. Opened the box and all was well. Some additional packaging wouldn't have gone amiss, as dropping the box from waist height would probably have damaged the intercooler.

Aside from that, it seems like a quality product. The chambers that the air passes through are split into three small channels, so they are more restrictive than what I thought they'd be. Will check out the old intercooler to see if there's any difference when it's removed. I'm also going to Mityvac the mounts and solenoid valves next week to see if they're working ok, just incase the issue isn't specific to the intercooler. Hey ho

You will surprised what a clay bar can do! My s60 was in a right state and its transformed the car along with regular polishing I used the auto glym version and had to clay it twice. I wasn't conviced before but friend swore by it.
