  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default 1.8 gdi manifold removal

Hi all. Does anyone know how to decoke their 1.8 gdi engine. Is there a way to get the manifold of from underneath the car? the top of the engine looks straight forward. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Yeah it is a pig, took about 4 hrs and there are some hard to see bolts but following the link is the best way (its what i did). Sadly i am not the type who remembers boly by bolt.

Given that your doing the throttle body it will run like a bag of spanners at first, and yes you can just drive it and it will learn anyway, but this is the way to settle it out.
