2011 C70, first impressions
Had my bright red C70 a couple of weeks now, and overall, I love it! I've had verts before, but the ragtop variety, so losing most of the boot isn't new.
It has the D3 engine, and it's very smooth compared to previous diesels I've had. Mrs Baxlin loves the comfortable ride, with no rattles. (It's only done 30000 miles). A couple of niggles though, at 5ft 9 I have banged my head several times already on the boot lid which doesn't open as far as I'd like, and I'm not thrilled with having to unlock the doors to get out every time. The boot seems to stay locked, too. Compared to my last two cars, which were both leased and therefore new, the steering wheel is huge, and the less said about that turning circle the better....... But, it's also my first Volvo, so no doubt I'll get used to these quirks. So far the overall package is at least as good as I expected, and when we get a bit of drier weather, down comes the top!!

Glad you're enjoying it
I've no experience of the C70 but the door locking should be changeable through the car menus. I know on the V50, the car can be set to lock once you drive off Good luck! |

To change the locking you have to have the ignition on, press menu on the dash and scroll down to lock settings, press enter and somewhere there you can deactivate the auto locking. If you want to keep the function be aware the only way to unlock the whole car is to press the lock/unlock button to open all the doors, the first pull of the handle only opens the one door, not all of them like some cars.
You do get used to it though and I find it really helps to have the lock/unlock button on the passenger door as well as in all my previous Volvo's but I still can't get used to it being missing on my 12MY V50!! I am looking for a cheap button to try and retrofit! Volvo turning circles are always catastrophically crap, my old Mk1 C70 was worse I promise!!

Pleased you are enjoying it: they're lovely cars and I miss mine - someday there will be another...
Door locking is via the menus as others have said. And as for the turning circle, it may not be great but Sasha is so right: we went from a Mk1 C70 to a Mk2 and - to us at the time - the turning circle seemed impressively tight! Enjoy! David
