Since I had the May update carried out, I have not experienced any more problems.
On the 'Home Screen', I replaced the Weather App, with Driver Performance and now only listen to TuneIn.

Smile My V90 good and bad

Hi,

it seems like many people have had sensus problems. Personally mine has been fine and I think it is brilliant. The best interface I have on any car by miles.

I also find the voice recognition faultless. It may be that my accent matches what the system expects.

Other issues though: the turbo pipe blew off and the radar/camera module fell off the windscreen. Both fixed brilliantly by the dealer.

I knew I was doing something wrong, I need to speak to the car in a Scottish accent.

Talking Voice recognition

I am afraid although I have live in Scotland for 30 years I still have a generic London/ cockney geezer accent.

Seems like Sensus was trained by a proper diamond.

I like the v90 and started to this forum. Frankly, amazing the amount of troubles you guys have. Put me offbuying a new Volvo for a while. For some wondering why it works for 6 months and start playing up... It is clearly the app you install / disinstall. Like you windows pc. It works great then gets clogged up by applications.

Incidentally, pretty sure sensus is windows based. on that basis, it will never be 100% reliable. Volvo knows this. It has signed an agreement this year with Google to move to Android. Best to wait a couple a years... Dreaming of a coupe 90 personally ;-)

That would rather surprise me, applications such as Sensus are often written in a Linux flavor.
Do you have specific reasons to think it's Windows based?

I tend to find if you go on any forum for a specific car you'll soon find many issues that many have... But for most people most modern cars are very reliable - you tend to post on forums when you've got a problem!

sure... but still.. Sensus seems to be way above average in terms of troubles. Make you want to buy an 20 old merc classic when you read this ;-)
