fuel pump
yes i will get the photos if it helps ive already lined them up but will get some shots .cant get the ones on the right side crank due to the bottom pully and bottom belt cover hiding the marks but can get the top one lined up with dead centre on the plastic cover if that makes sense.good to know the fuel fillter is the right way around i can get on with puting it on the car after some duck tape as suggested .strange how the pumps dont come with a sleeve.new pump new fuel new relay.checked all fuses not blown and going to get a multi metre.to check the fuses and then if some one has photos of building a bridge to the pump if all else fails ill give that a go cherrs all

Just renew the fuses, don't mess about testing them - they're pennies and not worth taking a chance on secondhand ones or something that doesn't show up on a meter. Lete me explain :
Looks fine, right? Still look fine?

Nah, you wouldn't - if you can't see it with the amount of light on the fuse i showed above then you never will. The link is fine, it's the blades that are the problem. Halfway through my MoT test it failed because of corrosion on the fuseblades. Wasn't running anything important, just the drivers side sidelight circuit. Either the tester didn't notice (it was after the lighting test part of the MoT), turned a blind eye or knew i was clever enough to confirm it was working throughout the test if i had been stopped on the way home and indeed when i left or what i don't know but it was fixed the following morning by fitting a new fuse. If you look closely at the blades (that's why i showed both sides of the fuse) you will see discolouration which is corrosion/oxidisation of the blades. This created resistance which prevented the sidelights working on one side only. The fuse itself looks ok and as stated, the link is intact. The whole point of showing this is that you can never assume anything simply on looks - please renew your fuel pump fuses, not just look at them and think they're ok. I've come across this fault countless times over the years on a variety of vehicles, the worst being the Mk3 & 4 Escort models and Orion counterparts.

also the long straight pipe on the fuel fillter going to the engine bay has a kink in it would it be a good idea to replace this part for a new part.

Loosen the banjo fitting on the engine side of the filter and turn the pipe until the kink goes then nip up the banjo fitting again. If needs be, loosen the banjo at the other end of the filter and rotate the filer to help with this, then nip up that banjo as well. Check for leaks afterwards and don't forget to renew those fuses! If all else fails, you'll have to go to Volvo for that pipe, expect a 2-3 week wait as it's likely it'll have to come from GCP in Sweden. It won't be cheap either!

fuel pump
ive just ordered those fuses and yes its the black rubber one with a screw fitting on it and because its rubber if i straighten the kink it might be ok to use or possibly collapsed inside.there seems to be fuel going thro because the pump has had fuel going into the pipe.ill take the end piece of the k jet when i come to start the engine just to be positive about fuel coming into the engine
