Loose steering wheel
Anyone removed their steering wheel before? I need to tighten mine up as there's some play in it. 99% sure this is the actual issue.
Knowing what the electrics are like, I'm presuming this involves some kind of praying to the SRS airbag warning gods and sacrificing a fiat cinquecento. |

I would check out that last 1% down at the bottom end of the column first.
What car you got? Our 03 has Tx screws at four and eight o'clock holding the airbag on, later cars have spring clip arrangements. There is a recent thread here about removing it. Before going anywhere near any of the electrics on the dash, console or seats disconnect the battery and leave the car power down for ten minutes or so. This will prevent the SRS throwing a wobbly. Throw in a prayer as well, can't be too careful |

Be sure to disconnect the battery at least 10 minutes before https://youtu.be/idmPhHNNixI

Cheers guys, I'll give it a bash.
I'm 99% sure it's the wheel that's the problem rather than anything else. I've spent weeks wiggling various bits and the column seems solid. EDIT: sorry Bendan, it's a 2006 V70r |
