New xc40

Hi
This is my first time here, and I wondered if someone can answer a question, my 21 plate xc40 manual, decided to roll down the road by itself, and damaged the rear end, my question is I have found it impossible to get out of the vehicle without the hand brake being automatically applied, whether the auto parking brake tick box is selected or not, can someone explain how this may have happened

Sounds like the handbrake may have not engaged properly.

Although, I wouldn’t rely solely on the handbrake. You should put the car in gear also.
