XC90 steering wheel off center
Hi everyone,
I live in Wales first of all and am v glad to join this forum. Recently I have two rear tyres replaced. Since that, I kind of feel the steering wheel is to the left hand side a little when driving straight line. I thought it could be an alignment issue so I took it to a local ATS Euromaster for a 4-wheel alignment. But they found nothing wrong with the alignment (and did not charge me). I don't know whether it is just a feeling (as this is the first time I own a Volvo). Anybody has a similar experience? Thanks, Neo |

Its not unheard of but much more like a defect or uneven wear with the tyres you had replaced rather than the new ones.

I don't see how simply changing rear tyres could have caused the steering wheel to have become off centre. Assuming that the car isn't actually pulling to one side when driving along a straight road (a very slight pull to the left isn't unusual on a heavily cambered road) then I suggest that the steering wheel was previously left slightly off centre after the front alignment was adjusted for some reason? They are meant to accurately clamp the steering wheel straight ahead before making adjustments but this isn't always done with sufficient care.
