Upper engine mount bushing
Wondering if the bushing in this upper mount can be changed on its own, or whether the whole mount needs to be replaced.
If the bushing can be changed, is 9434263 the correct part no.?

Yes the bush can be replaced . I replaced mine with a poly-bush , didn't even have to remove the bracket from the engine , easy job .

I spoke to Volvo and they said my mount is different and can only be ordered whole with the bushing included.
If you look at the top right of the diagram in this link, my mount is labelled “Alter 2” (I think). So I’m wondering if part 24a (9434263) will fit it. https://parts.volvocarslisle.com/a/V...GR-279397.html

The picture shown in the first post is the same as the one I have fitted with a polybush . As I said , the bush can be changed in situ . Have a look on fleabay , they are about 13 to 20 quid.

Must admit on my step daughters C70 I just changed the whole unit.Nut/bolt through bush to undo one small bolt[which holds an earth wire]and four bolts holding the mount to the engine and it's job done in a few minutes. At some point the bush was redesigned but the whole unit is a direct swap.

The later square mount and bush is the uprated version of the round one. Interchangeable and apparently much better.
Similar to this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285422212...Bk9SR_ilzbjBYw For reference only, I'm not endorsing the seller.

Which is why you might be seeing more than one part number for this part?

I have only ever replaced the complete unit in all occasions. Never tried the poly bush though.
