Default tyre recommendation

Hi
I have a 1966 estate with 5 1/2 rims- what would you recommend as the best tyre make/size for that combination? I have 185 -15 at present with some sidewall cracking.
I wouldn't mind reducing the rolling radius to help with moving off.
It is used quite hard but not round corners.....

The standard 165/15 can be used with 5.5" rims and would bring the gearing back to normal. 185/65/15 would be slightly under geared but would make it a bit more perky in the lower gears. They would also put a bit more rubber on the road. Having OD is a big advantage. Check you speedo with a phone app if going to that size.
Your post would have been better in the Amazon section.

195/65 15 is my tyre size of choice and gives the correct gearing
