Cool V70 -99, fuel gauge showing zero

Hi guys!

Bought a V70 AWD not too long ago. Fuel gauge is showing zero no matter how much petrol there is in the tank. The on board computer is showing dashes when you select the amount of miles you can do before you run out of petrol. I guess its connected to the fuel gauge or sensor is some kind of way. It's not a big problem but would like to get it fixed.

Thanks for your replies.

Cheers

Fuel guage sender is part of the fuel pump unit in the tank.

I'd be tempted to check the wiring first as the AWD model has some challanges in removing the fuel pump.
