Question Volvo Alternator 140A S60, S70, S80, V70, XC70, XC90, 98-04

hrmm, not sure if anyone here will be interested, but i bought this a few months back to replace my alternator, from new city parts (avoid!) basically the bearings had gone in my old one and thought be easier to get a second hand one, so i'm not without a car whilst it gets re-con'd, but turns out this one sounded worse?

anyways volvo part number is 8676498, i belive it fits all models as in my thread title, i paid £75 for this, and of no use to me now, if anyone can get it recon'd or can do it themselves i reckon it may be of use.

i belive it to be from a 2004 d5, although the guy insisted on the phone it was from a facelift 2005 but part numbers don't match up and when i put that part number in online i could see it was from the earlier one,

£15 posted (uk) if anyones interested

Default Still got that alternator

Hi,
If you still have that alternator I would be interested.... pulley went on mine and shaft broke whilst trying to get it off.... what sort of noise was it making... was the belt jumping/vibrating?... if so then its probably the pulley and I have one that I bought to go on mine.... which is off no use now!

Let me know asap!
Regards
Mike
