Does anyone know if they fit??

960 tail lights with the clear indicators.. will they fit into my 1992 940?? just want to make sure they fit before i go buy some.. thanks in advance for any advice

The estate lights fit, not sure about the saloon version.

Yes, they fit. However, the 940 lamp holders must be slightly modified to fit. Get the lamp holders with the 960 tail lights. Ask me how I know.

thanks for the info.. would have thought the bulb holders would be the same.. was more concerned about the size/shape of the unit itself.. cheers

I have installed a 940 estate rearcluster on my 1986 740 estate.

The problem I ran into was that the connectors were different sizes.

Just to make you aware/ caution you.

As the saying goes in the partsdepartment== it is al the same and always fits.

on which the mechanic answers - it is seldom the same and doesnt fit anyhow

These cars can take you by suprise...don't assume anything!

I put late 740 saloon rear lights onto my early 740 saloon and had to angle grind part of the rear panel away and change the wiring (which also was different colours!!). Only 2 years between car/lights.

The light unit itself fits perfectly, as I did this to my old 1993 940 (first pic), and I have just done it to my 92 960 (second pic).

As said, just make sure that when you buy the lights that you get the 960 bulb holder with it, as the 940 one will not fit into the cluster.

The connector will fit the 960 bulb holder, so there are no worries there.

thanks for the advice.. your cars look great.. thats the look i'm after debadged at the back... out of interest does the reflective bumper strip peel off or did you cover it up with something??
