1.6D R Design - Cambelt
First post so please be gentle!
I am going to pick up my dream car tomorrow. A 2008 (57) Volvo S40 R-Design. Went for the 1.6 diesel to limit running costs and I don't do alot of miles (all round town). I can't find anywhere on the internet the service interval for the cambelt change. Heard different things from 75K to 120K - can anyone tell me for sure please? Cheers in advance. |

Afaik it is written down with 240.000 km or 12 years. 240.000 km = 150.000 miles.
At the same time, the chain has to be checked (the 1.6d is one of thiose strange engines which have a cambelt connecting the crank with the exhaust camshaft. A chain connects the exhaust with the intake cam).

Bought my baby and she's home with me now. I am officially a "Volvo Owner"! Haha. I love her!
