Voice Control
Here's a response from one of the Engineers at Jaguar that I have spoken to regarding issues using voice control:
The Volvo voice system in your car was a joint project between JLR and Volvo so I should be able to help with the issues that you are having. For the following issue "The phone contact sometimes looks at stores contacts in the car memory instead of the phone. I don't have any stored in the car so get a returned message - no contacts found." If the phonebook becomes available later on in the journey it could be because of the time that it takes for speech to download a phonebook after you pair your phone. This is because the speech system has to work out how each contact is said so it can recognise the name when it is given. Trying the call contact command later on in your journey should mean that the phonebook is available. If you still get the "no contacts found" feedback later on in the journey, this could be caused by making a call (via the buttons, or via speech) before the phonebook has downloaded for speech which currently cancels the phonebook download for speech. You have the same complaint as some other users about the call contact feature having too many confirmation steps, we are looking in to ways of changing this. To help you speed up this feature with the current design you can use "barge-in" where you briefly press the voice button when the system is talking back to you to skip to the next listening tone, when you see what you want on the display / Know what command you are going to give next.
