Default Help Please S60 Bi Fuel

Right hear goes........... Had engine managenent light come on just after buying the car....Missfire cylinder 5 Changed plugs, coilpack, fitted brand new destributor body (used origional stepper motor) still same misfire and light still on, did compression test and showed no compression....Had the head rebuilt after exhaust valve found to be burned as is common apparently........

Ran great after this for a few weeks.......After a long run 170 miles the light would come back on then go off after a refill of gas and stay off for a week or so. I have had this on and off now for weeks and is doing my head in. I had the engine cut out on LPG a couple of times and limp with no power. I have changed the LPG filters and fitted a brand new set of plugs from volvo. Still the light is on. I have desconected the lambda senor and then put back and this did cure the light for a day before it came back on.

I have rechecked cylinder comperssion and it seems to be all ok across the cylinders

I have got a small rasp noise from the exhaust in the cat area ????

When i changed the plugs cylinders 1,2,3 and 5 were grey/white coloured and number 4 was a more brown colour and stood out as being a different colour.......

Any ideas please im starting to lose the will and want it sorted once and for all as im sick of spending money good after bad.........

Anyone with any ideas will be very greatfully recieved.......

Changed the LPg FILTERS and all seemed fine until last night. Driving home on LPG the engine started to shudder and loss of power and then would stall until i changed manually to petrol. Lasted for some five miles or so. Car lef overnight and upon starting this morning it ran ok on LPG................

Engine management light is still on as welll......

Any ideas please am thinking stepper motor change is needed ????

Think you're probably right.

As you'll have seen across the pages on here, the factory fit bi-fuels are prone to this sort of bother.

Cheers
