A big thank you guys!

Indeed there was another (4th?!) fuse box under the steering wheel. I should really go and find my hand book; that would have saved so much time.

Thanks again!

Default 2005 XC70 D5 alarm siren fuse

There is another bank of fuses above the pedals. Two Torx to remove panel and two to remove OBD socket for better access. Fuse 8 disables siren. Not sure why Volvo make this so inaccessible.

To my relief my 2004 V70 does not have this fuse panel over the pedals. In mine the siren fuse is in the panel at the end of the dash.

If the siren module is the cause of the activations pulling the fuse will stop it. Alternately you could, if that doesn't fix it, press the reduced guard button to deactivate the internal sensor.
What does the siren sound like? I can't read the Northern accent
If it's original it's overdue to fail.

Ahem - this is a way to disable the siren .. That just might be why Volvo make this so hard and inaccessible!
