Not that i ever believe the weather man, here is the forecast from the met office website:
Weather forecast: North East England
UK Outlook for Sunday 28 Feb 2010 to Tuesday 9 Mar 2010:

A very unsettled start with wet and very windy weather expected to spread northwards across much of Britain during Sunday, bringing heavy rain to some regions and snow to more northern parts. The far north may stay bright with some wintry showers. The rest of the period is likely to continue fairly unsettled and windy at times, with occasional heavy rain, especially for southwestern Britain. There is a continued risk of this turning to snow from about the Midlands northwards. Some dry and brighter spells are also likely, particularly in the east. There is a possiblility of the drier conditions in the east extending westwards later. Temperatures throughout should be cold or rather cold with night frosts, but near normal at times in the south.

Pah, I stood about in the snow on Sun. so can't see it being a problem if it snows. They are only guessing this far out anyway.

Weather looks like its going to be good for the weekend, maybe 6 - 7 degrees.

You may of seen on local news that the high tides have damaged the promenade in Redcar,
This will not affect the area we are meeting, at the time we are meeting
