Hi anybody know an easy way to submit photos to the forum. They are JPEG and about 2mb each. Max allowable is 256kb. Solution needs to be easy as I am not an IT guru- Thanks in advance.

Cool

Download a brilliant programme called Irfanview. (Free). Really easy to use, and it's always been one of the best. When you install it, it asks if it can associate with your files...... click on "Images only"....but don't let it load the Google Toolbar.....which is one of the biggest pains known to man and PC engineers.

http://www.irfanview.com/

Then you can scale all your photos to a sensible size and post them. I'd suggest 800X600.

2Mb photos are an absolute no no on the web. They use up immense amounts of space on the server, and would take ages to upload/download.

If you have any problems post again.

Start a free account with an image hosting service like Flikr, Photobucket etc.
Upload the pics there and then copy and paste the '[IMG] codes' to your posting on the forum.
This way you are not limited by file size, although keeping the image width below 1024 makes it easy to view them on the average computer screen.
For resizing/cropping images prior to uploading I use Faststone Image Viewer

As an example:

Photobucket also provides clickable thumbnail codes as well:

If you click on the 'QUOTE' button on the posting, you will see how the code is used.

Either as suggested above, or go into User CP on top left hand side of page on Volvo Forums and build yourself an album. You will have to minimize/crop your jpgs, or you can let the forum software do it for you automatically.

When the the album is loaded onto the site double click on an image in the album to open it and the picture url is below in a box, or just right click on an image you want to use and in the drop down menu look for "view image info" click and a box will open up giving the location url of your image. Cut and paste where needed....Jeez I hope that didn't sound to complicated.....

Looks good

Remember that as you are using an image host you can post bigger pictures as they are not filling up the forum's servers.
Just choose a size that is viewable on an average screen.
