Question Bulb near gearstick

Hi,
I've got 1991 940 2.0, near the gearlever just under gaiter is a blue tinted bulb which has 2 blue wires and 1 grey one going to it.

It doesn't light up and I was wondering if anyone knew what this was for or which circuit it was part of.

Wondering if it was part of the heated seat circuit as the drivers side switch doesn't light.

Thanks,

It is there to illuminate the seat heater switches. Not the amber light on the rocker but the symbols in front.

Thumbs up

Thanks for that, I'll have to get a replacement bulb and find out where to refit it into and get bulb for heated seat switch sorted out.

If you pull out the centre console, there is a silver, plastic piece that runs down one side to just in front of the seat heater switches. There is a hole on it on the passenger side (on US models anyway) that the bulb and holder fits into. If you have an automatic, there should also be a light for the gear indicator. The replacement bulb is the same one for the switches in the panel on either side of the wheel if you want to test the circuit with a known good bulb first.

Thanks, for that, I will have to check bulb for headlight switch symbols as they dont light up either. The electrics on my 940 are bit haphazard so I wouldn't be surprised if the bulb was ok and some other fault.

Will check it out once it turns a bit warmer here in England.
