Key fob stuck
Just got a call from missus saying the key fob is stuck and won't come out.
She did all the usual - i.e. wiggling the steering wheel, start the engine and off, put the parking brake on and off - and nothing worked. At the moment she just locked the car using the emergency key blade and after she came home I will have to request Volvo Roadside Assistance. In the mean time does anyone experienced this and know how to solve? I called our Volvo dealer but it seems I'm the first person who called with this issue? TIA |

Or is it a case of More Porridge Required?? Just a thought as I think the XC60 is like the XC70 fobs? Try replacing the blade key back into the stuck fob in the dash and then push and hold the FOB into the dash for 5sec and once you let go see if it pops out. Mothers XC70 fob stuck a couple of times purely randomly and this seamed to work but may have just been coincedence with all the other pushing, pulling, wiggling and engine on/off as you've tried already. Thinks it's happened about 3times in total. Never needed to go to dealers though as it has always ejected eventually. |

First of all a digression - On my XC60 you can pull the key from the panel at any time with no effect on the ignition setting. If the engine is running, it keeps running, even with no ignition key anywhere near the car. When I queried this with the dealer, he said that was how it was designed to work (which could be translated as "there is a problem here we do not want to deal with" - but never mind that for now).
So, is the problem that the key normally locks in place and will not now release, or is it that the key is somehow jammed in place regardless?
