150mpg Volvo
Anyone else read the article in the Sun motor section the other day?
150 mpg and still 220ish bhp when needed. Only downside - they reckon it'll cost 40 grand

Yup. The New V60 - Looks an interesting overall package

But dont the batteries for the hybrid element last about 7 or 8 years and cost about 7k to replace....? maybe not such a bargain then!

Indeed they do. And, they use more energy to make them than they will save in the first year or two of ownership. Then when they need replacing, who will pay for the disposal of them? How much will that cost? Hardly a "green" solution.
